Reflecting back on the morning of September 11, 2001, and the following days, FDNY’s Bravest answered the call, as always, without hesitation amidst the devastation. You walked through the valley of the shadow of death; fearing no evil. Nothing compares to the indefinable experiences that our first responders had that day, and continue to have, that affect their physical, mental and emotional health. To be a member of the FDNY family is a true calling to be selfless, to serve, and to be extremely resilient.
It’s hard to believe that 25 years have passed. Our heart breaks for the lives lost. Yet, we also find so much hope from the members who’ve endured, persevered, and overcome their trials. We will not waver to be there for those who continue to face many health challenges. Some of you we’ve come to know quite well, and we are continually touched by your warmth and generosity, especially given everything you carried with you from that day. It is an honor and privilege to work within the FDNY World Trade Center Health Program, and we are here to serve you in every way possible on your journey toward health, restoration, and healing. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with, serve and care for our FDNY family! May God bless each of you today & always.
With love and gratitude,
