A letter to our members from our new
WTC Clinical Center Director, Dr. Jayson Park
Dear Member,
Over the last few years, I have had the privilege of delivering healthcare to many of you at our WTC satellite in Fort Totten. Many of you trusted me to share your personal story. Your stories have deeply moved me. So, as I remember each of you and your heroic sacrifice surrounding that historic day on 9/11, my new role can only be best described as giving back to you to the best of my ability in the hopes that it can perhaps come close to the sacrifice and service you gave to New York City and our nation. It is with great humility and honor that I join the mission to care for our FDNY family as Director of the Clinical Center of Excellence, World Trade Center Health Program.
I want to let you know that you are both seen and heard. I can also attest to the fact that since the day I joined the FDNY family, I have witnessed a consistent spirit of strong leadership and a team of supportive staff who tirelessly serve you, and advocate to develop the program on your behalf. This legacy has been well established. Now, the baton has been passed on to me. I hope to carry on this legacy, with the best of who I am, with character and integrity, and by upholding the practice of excellence to serve New York’s Best and Bravest.
In the coming days and months, I hope to see new and familiar faces. Until then, I continue to remind myself of why I do what I do: Until the very last member is taken care of… never forget.
Dr. Jayson Park
Deputy Chief Medical Officer
Director of the Clinical Center of Excellence
